Salz Biosciences
Repurposing existing bisphosphonates for Alzheimer's disease, using brain-penetration and proteomic data to select promising candidates and create a route into clinical development.
to new neurological uses.
Bisphosphonate repurposing
Known compounds.
A new route into the brain.
Bisphosphonates have been used for years in osteoporosis. Salz is investigating whether selected compounds can also reach the brain and influence biological processes relevant to Alzheimer's disease.
The REBIND programme compares three candidates, selects the strongest one or two for further development and prepares the route towards early clinical validation in humans.

Salz Biosciences
Alzheimer's disease
Turning a scientific signal into a development programme.
Repurposing with the
end route in mind.
Existing medicines can create a more efficient starting point.
Salz starts with compounds that already have a history of human use. The aim is to use that existing knowledge to build a more efficient development route while keeping future patient access part of partnering and commercial decisions.
